Nice one Lydia, a bit soft though. But i like your idea of exposure here, just keeping the subject and making the background totally disappear. :-)

@Rahul: Thanks for your suggestions, I totally agree with you on the softness aspect of the picture, there really does need to be more sharpness & contrast. I took this picture about 8 yrs ago and the film was accidentally exposed, blurring out the foundation the statues were standing on. I also developed this photo in a dark room and can’t seem to find the negative, so all I have now is a scan of this photo... One of these days I will re-take this photo as I think the two statues make a nice subject.

I agree with Rahul, keeping the elements simple works in this image.

A touch more contrast would help the subject stand out a bit more, as would a bit of cleaning up (removing) the few specs of tone that remain at the bottom, and the line at the top. All in all a pretty good attempt at isolating the main subjects.
