Art Monkey from Salt Spring Island, Canadabeautiful shot - I think it is a jasmine - but of course I could be wrong :) 6 Apr 2007 5:07am @Art Monkey: Hi, my sister just informed me that its a Plumeria Alba aka Frangipani (interesting names!) Thanks for the comment! Amarjit Singh from hoshiarpur, IndiaWOW .. THATS NICE CAPTURE .. the yello colour is just coming outside the flower . 6 Apr 2007 7:15am @Amarjit Singh: I love your picture "the closeup", I've never seen a flower with such amazing petals (I don't have a yahoo account so I can't comment on your album) Titto from Chennai, IndiaHey is this vanilla flower , good one... 6 Apr 2007 7:29am Srikaanth from Bengalooru, IndiaI like the smell it produces when in full blossom. We(children) would play with these big flowers by folding the petals on the floral stem just like a ring, wearing it all thru the day!! Amazing memories with it. Thanks for making me revisit it. 6 Apr 2007 8:07am @Srikaanth: Thanks for sharing your childhood memories with us, and yes, the smell is intoxicating when in full bloom- I can't wait unti I can smell one of these flowers again! Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomA beautiful and unusual flower, gorgeous colours 6 Apr 2007 8:57am Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaWow ! This flower is beautiful ! Well done 6 Apr 2007 11:20am Sandra from PhilippinesThe flower is so pretty. It's like there's a spinning-effect inside the flower.:) 6 Apr 2007 11:53am Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaLovely shot of this beautiful flower. The flower looks so symetrical. 6 Apr 2007 5:12pm Dornbrau from Colorado Springs, United StatesBeautiful. I grew up with a couple of plumeria trees in my yard in Hawaii. The fragrance is indeed heavenly. And the blossoms come in various shades of yellow, pink and orange. My favorites are the pale yellows. We used to make leis out of them (flower garlands). They are quite poisonous. I would probably eat them if they weren't, they smell so good. 6 Apr 2007 10:32pm @Dornbrau: poisonous eh...?! ajoeh from Mataram, IndonesiaVery good shot, lovely flower, maybe it could be better if you could move closer (or crop it), capturing the detail of 'the starfish like' line on the flower (I don't know the propert term for it. lol) 7 Apr 2007 12:18am @ajoeh: Thanks for the cropping suggestion! Miguel from Stockholm, Swedenit's almost as if i can smell it from here. Love vanilla and yellow is a nice colour :) 7 Apr 2007 6:33am Sarala from Chicago, United StatesDefinitely plumeria. I love the form of these flowers and wish they grew near me so I could take their pictures forever. Also they have such a fabulous smell! 7 Apr 2007 3:22pm |
